As many you know my beloved husband, Rod, passed away. He was truly an amazing individual. He was quiet and reserved, yet he was my strength and biggest fan. For the past two years he underwent dialysis 3 times a week and had multiple hospital visit. Because he was unable to get insurance through his employer, we relied on government insurance and incurred much of his medical expenses ourselves.
It is with a sense of gratitude, I am asking for help to assist with Rod’s cremation and final expenses. I’m usually the guy rushing to help everyone, as was Rod, so it is with great humility that I seek assistance.
Even if you are unable to help financially, I ask that you please send some prayers and aloha to me and Rods family. I have never felt such sorrow but I am committed to carrying Rod’s sense of kindness and peace.
Many of you know 4 years ago , when Covid started, I began Masks of Hope which was all started because one person, my beloved Rod, asked me to make him just one. That one mask turned into 100,000 made and donated . People now argue the efficacy of masks, but those masks lived up to their promise, they provided hope.
Rod always said that I was “the star of our relationship “ but the truth is, he was my star. And now the hope that he so graciously helped provide to so many , is the same hope I need now .
