“Help Rod in the battle of his life”

Rod Mitchell has just been handed news no one ever wants to hear. From being a fit and healthy hard worker just 3 months ago to being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has now spread to his bone, pancreas and kidney it is attacking and spreading aggressively and he is now in the fight for his life.

Radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy are now going to be an integral part of his treatment and hopefully he will be eligible to begin a trial medication to target a genetic mutation of his cancer which has had some promising results.

This all means that work is not a possibility at all for Rod and his wife Dale has taken time off work as a nurse to be by him through all the tests and treatments but will inevitably have to return soon as they have a mortgage and all the medical bills to try and cover.

This is where we as a community step in and my hope is to raise enough money to take the financial pressure off these two and to allow Dale to take time off work to be by Rods side without having to worry about how they are going to cover all of this.

Anyone who knows Rod knows how proud he is and for him to agree to let me ask for help on their behalf is huge so let’s get behind him and show him how much he means to everyone!
