Rocky's Road to Recovery: Neuter and Tick Illness
Donation protected
Hi everyone! The time has come to help Rocky make the next big step! He has a very tragic history.
Rocky was rescued from an abandoned property with 21 other dogs in Buckeye and was apart of a litter than had never been touched by humans before. He was trapped by a rescue and then snared by the county. Those two experiences were extremely traumatic and left lasting effects on him. After escaping from a foster home, he was on the run for over a month until he was finally trapped with a collarum trap, which further traumatized him regarding leashes and human interaction. Rocky was set to be euthanized on two separate occasions but I knew there was a special boy inside of him. Rocky has gone from a shut down shell of a dog who wouldn’t come within 15 feet of anyone to now a fun loving, goofy boy who has been actively seeking out affection and physical touch! We know he will be able to find his forever home with someone as special as him.
We recently discovered Rocky isn't neutered while on top of having tick fever. He needs proper vetting and rechecked for ongoing treatment. The challenge is getting Rocky the veterinary care he needs. Although he’s made tremendous progress he has an aggressive response triggered by leashes and being contained. Luckily I have found an amazing place and Veterinarian willing to help Rocky and fulfill his needs. It’s going to be a strategic event for all people involved. He will be microchipped fixed get blood work and anything else that may be needed while he is sedated. This will be happening in the beginning of October.
Thank you all so much for your care, love, and your ongoing support for Rocky and his journey to a better life!
