"Rocky’s Last Hope: Urgent Surgery to Save His Leg"
Donation protected
Imagine a young, vibrant cat who devotes his life to others—keeping them safe, comforting them, ensuring they never face a meal alone. That’s Rocky: the fearless protector and gentle guardian of our small outdoor cat community in Middle Tennessee. He’s under a year old, yet he’s already our neighborhood’s cherished mascot, greeting everyone with purrs, playful headbutts, and a brave heart that never quits.
What Happened:
This past Saturday 12-7-24, Rocky vanished for five agonizing days (which he has never done, he never misses a meal). When he finally limped home, our hearts sank. We rushed him to the vet and discovered a severely dislocated hip. The vet’s news was heartbreaking: we couldn’t just “pop” it back—he needed surgery. Without it, Rocky’s pain would continue, and his proud, carefree days of patrolling the neighborhood, protecting his feline friends, and basking in the sunlight would be lost.
Rocky’s Personality & Impact:
Rocky isn’t just a cat; he’s a beacon of hope, safety, and companionship for the entire colony. He stands watch, ensuring no lurking stranger harms his friends. Yet, beyond that vigilance, there’s endless warmth. He’s the first to greet a friendly hand with purrs and cuddles. He never turns down a treat (or two), and every person who meets him falls hopelessly in love with his spirited personality. In a world where so many animals struggle unseen, Rocky makes everyone he meets feel connected and cared for.
Now, this devoted protector can’t even stand without pain. Confined indoors for safety, he gazes out the window, missing the life he once knew and the family he vowed to protect.
