Rocky’s Last Chance: A Little Puppy’s Life-Saving Surgery

My name is Ryann Torrero. I am simply an animal activist who cares way too much about helping these innocent lives. THIS IS THE STORY OF ROCKY:

I was asked for help through a very small rescue in Lampa, Chile that they were notified of a young and tiny 3-month old puppy being severely abused in a household. When we went to see him, it was worse than we imagined. He was horrifically skinny, malnourished, starving, covered in dried and mushy poop and feces, covered in bugs and ticks, FILTHY, and could not walk or stand.

Why couldn’t he walk or stand?! His owners “told us” that he was “hit by a car” and for 8-9 days had been lying there outside on their patio unable to move, because he had MULTIPLE FRACTURES.

THEY LEFT HIM LYING THERE outside, unable to walk or stand or move, without any pain medicine or medical attention, in excruciating unimaginable severe pain, shitting and pissing on himself, and covered in bugs for OVER A WEEK. HE WAS LITERALLY EATING ROCKS to survive (his x-ray showed rocks in his stomach).

Simply put: WE DONT BELIEVE THEIR STORY. He has absolutely 0 scratches or open skin from being “hit by a car” and “launched onto the pavement”; and the physical state that they kept him in was abusive, neglectful, and horrific. We believe that one of the adults likely kicked him, hard.

He has 4 fractures: his tibia bone completely broken in half, and 3 fractures in his tiny little hips. It is completely unfathomable the pain, neglect, and abuse he has survived. He will NEVER go back there.

Rocky now is in a hospital in Colina, Chile (named Veterinaria CLAN) where he has been hospitalized and on heavy duty pain medicine while he awaits his surgery. The cost of his surgery will total about $2,000, which is very, very difficult for people to pay here. He has no family, no owners…only us to help him.

Please….please help us help him. We can’t leave him in this broken, fractured state. He cannot live without this surgery as he cannot properly go poop and pee until he has this oepration. He is a baby who has endured far too much pain, fear, neglect, and abuse in his short time on this Earth. He truly deserves a chance at a happy life despite his past. Help us let him forget everything bad that ever happened to him and pay for his surgery so that he can be a happy puppy again.
