Help Rocky Recover from a Coyote Attack
Donation protected
On Saturday May 3rd at around 10 PM I walked my two small dogs on leash out onto the grass just steps away from our home to go potty. Almost immediately, I noticed a coyote running at us from across the street. I yelled at it and tried desperately to scare it away from my dogs, but it wouldn’t back off and eventually grabbed my sweet boy Rocky by the neck and carried him off. While I chased after the coyote, my other dog Mishka ran to our front door and my roommate got her inside safely. Thanks to the help of lots of kind neighbors who came outside during the chaos, we managed to spook the coyote and retrieve Rocky.
He is currently in critical condition being treated for multiple bite marks around his neck. I am heartbroken, but so glad to have him alive and in the proper hands. In the first 24 hours hes already shown some positive improvement, he is a fighter.
I knew the vet bill was going to be high, but at only 5 years old and with so much life to live, the cost is more than worth it.
Rocky still has a long road to recovery, and many procedures to go. The goal includes the cost of his care in total so far, but I am grateful for any amount of help with the cost of Rocky’s lifesaving care. If you can’t help by donating, you can help by sharing to your friends and family.
