We recently received a very endearing but awfully heart breaking plea for help - big softie Rocky is going through chemo at the moment, the costs are excruciating, his distraught owner has tried to create a fundraiser but was unsuccessful, so we offered to help within our possibilities ❤️

We will let Rocky's owner tell you what's going on, in her own words:

" I never imagined I'd be writing something like this, but my whole world has been turned upside down only a few days ago. Many of you know my beautiful 9 year old dog Rocky and just how much I adore my best friend - sadly, he has been diagnosed with high grade large cell lymphoma (cancer of the immune system where there's a clonal expansion of lymphoid cells). Rocky has been by my side through everything, every high, every low, the thought of losing him so soon is something I am not ready to face. Although there is no cure, there seems to be hope that I can keep him around and happy for a bit longer - many dogs respond well to chemotherapy (CHOP protocol) and could even go into remission, I am hoping with all my heart that this could be the case for Rocky too. This treatment could give us more precious time together - time I would give anything for. ❤️

The treatment costs around £500 - £600 per week, including medication, which is far more than I can manage on my own, especially as my family consists of 2 more rescued dogs and 7 rescued cats. One of my cats also had some health difficulties recently (resulting in £600 vet bills); I managed to pay £640 so far for Rocky; my heart and my mind tell me that if there's a chance, any chance, even the smallest chance, that I can give him more happy days, more walks, more cuddles… I have to at least try.

I am not someone who would ever ask for help, one of my friends encouraged me to start up this fundraiser as I feel so embarrassed, but I am not left with a lot of options at the moment. I'm kindly asking, from the bottom of my heart, for any help you may be able to offer, whether it's a small donation or sharing this fundraiser, it would mean so much to Rocky and I. He is my family, my comfort, my playful silly boy who makes me laugh every single day, I'm ready to fight for him and alongside him. ❤️
