My name is Amy and Rocky, mostly known as Boo Boo, is my son, my best friend, my life, my confidant, my everything. I love this dog more than life itself. Rocky is a 10-year-old lump of love; however, he can be nervous around people he does not know. I have had Rocky since he was about 4 months old. Through this, he had Parvo, which he survived. He has had lumps and bumps removed, all came back non-cancerous. He has chronic ear infections and very itchy skin that turns blood red. He uses medication called Apoquel for the itchy allergies. Rocky has 3 dog brothers and a pot-bellied pig brother. Last year, his brother Duke went through two different kinds of cancers and almost died, but through the grace of God, he is still with us and in remission. But that pretty much maxed us out.
Rocky has now been diagnosed with torn CCL in both knees along with a meniscus tear and arthritis and needs a double TPLO surgery to help him walk normally without pain, and we just don't have this kind of cash. I was given a low end, which is for one knee of $4234.72, and a high end, which is for both knees, of $8035.72. I have the estimate that I am attaching. My boy is in pain, and I am not sure what to do. He is already getting monthly injections of Adequan and Librela. He is on Gabapentin and Carprofen, along with Dasuquin, which is a joint supplement, along with Trazodone for anxiety and Apoquel for allergies. My husband built him a ramp to get in and out of the house easier with scrap wood we had. I have him a wagon and a couple of slings, but the vet said he needs this surgery. I don't really like asking for help, and I know times are very hard, but if you are able to help even just a little or even send him prayers, this would be so much appreciated.
I also have x-rays I can post at some point to show his arthritis
update
we spent all last night and today at two different vets because Rocky got sick last night he started acting funny and his gums went pale we were given a possible diagnoses of neoplastic process such as sarcoma or carcinoma although benign process is possible at the first vet and then follow up at his regular vet further X-rays and blood work shows abnormal structure at the head of the spleen and centrai liver lobes small amount of free fluid noted in both spleen and liver lobes possible Hemangiosarcoma and other neoplasm. I will post the paper and X-rays showing so now we have to add a blue pearl visit on the 8th so the surgeon can tell us how to move forward with the cancer diagnoses. Please if you can help anything is appreciated.
