Kenosha is a one of a kind city. Home to 100,000 beautiful people, with a vibrant and blossoming downtown, and it’s split right between Chicago and Milwaukee. Throughout the 20th century, it was a destination for countless big time artist touring through the I-94 alley, such as Frank Sinatra, Buddy Holly, Kiss, the Smashing Pumpkins, and more. In the past years, Kenosha has grown hungry for the inspiration and liveliness that original live music brings to communities.
On August 20, 2022, a revolution takes place in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Touring artists from all across America, as well as a mirage of local potential, sign-on for a one day festival coined “America’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus”. The expanding lineup features 10 diverse music slots. Already featured on the lineup is Milwaukee heavy hitter, GGOOLLDD, as well as Chicago indie-rockers Deeper who are well known for playing alongside band's like Twin Peaks and Whitney, and touring all around the country.
When the civil unrest hit Kenosha in 2020, the city was left devastated. Kenosha was thrust into the national headlines for the first time, without mention of what really makes up Kenosha. 100,000 hard working, kind people who LOVE music. The Kenosha Creative Space was the first organization to put out the message that art can pull us back up. This was demonstrated through their campaign of colorful, intoxicating murals on the window boards, many of which are still displayed around the city today. As a division of the Kenosha Creative Space, the festival aims to raise money for empowering artists and creatives in the Kenosha community, as well as create a new landmark for national attention. The estimated community impact of the Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus is over $35,000 to local businesses in tourism alone. But the social impact, will be much greater.
