Fund for Surviving Victim of Rockford, IL Tragedy

On March 27th, a lone assailant went on an attack rampage in a Rockford, Illinois neighborhood that left 4 people dead and 7 other victims seriously injured. Our cousin Lindsey was one of the surviving victims.

She left work midday for a quick stop at home before heading to a dentist appointment. But within minutes of getting home, her locked back door was shattered, her home invaded, and she was violently stabbed in the face. Lindsey tried to flee, but her attacker caught her in the street outside her home, continuing the brutal attack. We cannot imagine the fear she must have felt. Thankfully a man driving by stopped to help, only to be stabbed himself, but if this Good Samaritan hadn’t intervened, the Winnebago County Sheriff said, Lindsey would have died that day too.

Lindsey is still in the hospital, though with wonderful doctors she will have minimal scarring. We don’t know yet the amount time or money it will take her to heal, but the mental trauma will last

for a lifetime.

We are so, so grateful Lindsey is alive. Our hearts ache for those innocent victims that lost their lives that day. We are seeking financial support for our cousin to help with expenses to help her recover physically and mentally from this horrific crime against her.
