Currently the Rockford Park District’s budget does not include grooming trails on weekends. We’ve estimated that it would cost $3800 in personnel expenses to groom if it snowed every weekend. It has been determined that using volunteers for this is not best practices. In understanding that the conditions often warrant weekend grooming we’ve started this fund. Any remaining dollars left in the account will either be rolled into the next year’s grooming efforts or used to buy a desperately needed new grooming machine for Sinnissippi. We’re asking that all trail users please consider giving $20, $50, $100 or whatever you’re able to give. The faster we reach this goal the better our conditions will be for 2018/2019 and begins.
