For the past 2 years, I have been building a jet-powered go karts in hopes of breaking a Guinness World Record. Using my years of aerospace education and experience as a Senior Spacecraft Technician on Lockheed Martin's Orion deep space capsules, I hope to break a current world record of 114.5 miles per hour for Fastest Jet-Propelled Go Kart. Guinness World Records has accepted my application to challenge the current record and they have sent me the guidelines for achieving this goal.
I am in the process of securing time to make test runs and, eventually, the actual record attempt at the former Space Shuttle Landing Facility at Kennedy Space Center.
As of the time of creating this fundraiser, I am finalizing the designs for the new afterburner and its fuel system. Once finished, I will begin gathering the materials and I am also shopping for the required safety gear, such as a Snell certified helmet, fire resistant shoes, socks and head sock.
I am asking for any donations and your support will bring me one giant leap closer to breaking the current world record. My youtube channel can be viewed at Rocketman Mike
