Hi, this is Lew & Julianne. On Sunday, November 12th, 2023 our world was turned upside down as our sweet Rockefeller was attacked by 2 rather large dogs. After rushing him to the ER after his shock was under control from the trauma and blood loss he endured his first of 3 surgeries. The first surgery he endured was just under 5 hours to repair internal injuries. The ER Vet was amazed he was alive with all the injuries. His second surgery was a week later due the infection bursting open his wound. A butterfly bandage was the result as to now we have to take him back to the vet every 3 days for cleaning and tightening of the butterfly bandage as the try to bring the skin closer together to close the hole. This will be another 3 to 5 weeks. Then he had to have a third surgery to have a piece of his pelvic bone removed that was crushed in the attack. We are finally on the upward climb on his healing. I’m sure you can only imagine the emotional turmoil and stress and of course financial burden this has caused on my husband and myself. Rockefeller is a big part of our family. He is being such a trooper and has such an incredible fighting spirit. We have maxed out credit cards, etc with hardly any payment from the person who is at fault.
This is not easy to ask for help but we are at the point where we must. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated! Any extra money collected will be donated to the ER vet so if someone else has this happen to them we can help with the financial burden.
We appreciate all the donations and if you are unable to donate financially we ask for your prayers for continued healing.
Thank you!
Lew, Julianne and Rockefeller
The is his butterfly bandage. The threads go through his skin in a circle. Every 3 days they clean it out, replace bandages and tighten the threading to close the hole. Every 3 days is an additional expense.
