My name is Rafael Benson Arellano. I’m a local resident and small business owner working alongside my brothers in our family business. Recently I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that left me with a broken leg and required emergency surgery and hospitalization in La Paz.
Because I do not have social security or health insurance, the cost of this unexpected emergency has been overwhelming. It has also been a slow season for our business, which has made it even harder to cover these medical expenses. At the moment I owe 200,000 pesos for my surgery and hospital stay, and I need to pay this bill as soon as possible.
To try to raise money and pay down this debt, I am organizing a community music event on March 20th from 5:00-10:00. We will have live music, homemade pozole, and a chance for friends and community members to come together for a good cause. There will be a cover charge at the door as a donation, and we will also have a donation jar available for anyone who would like to contribute more. Details will be posted closer to the event date.
I am deeply grateful for any support during this difficult time. Whether it’s attending the event, sharing this fundraiser, or making a donation, every bit helps me get closer to paying my medical bills and getting back on my feet.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
