Last week Rocio was hospitalized with multilobar pneumonia. She had been suffering from fevers of up to 103 degrees for a few days. The first trip to the ER was a bust as the antibiotics they prescribed did nothing for the fever. Two days later, she was admitted to the ER again, this time they did a CT scan and discovered that 3 of her 5 lobes were infected. They began administering intravenous antibiotics. This treatment was also not effective. They began her on an anti-microbial which seemed to help and finally got her fever down to a normal level. They kept her on intravenous medicine for 3 more days to be sure before releasing her today. They were never able to determine the actual type of infection because the cultures they took did not grow anything.
This is the second pneumonia that has been in our family this month (Daniel got the first) and the third ER visit this month. Added together with the other doctor visits for ear infections, follow ups, pharmacy transactions and we have racked up quite a lot of bills this April.
We thought a gofundme would help, we have tallied our estimated cost. If we have a money surplus, we will be donating that to a new medical gofundme cause.
We consider a donation of any amount a huge blessing. We are deeply grateful for your prayers, friendship and support during this difficult time for our family.
