Rocio Barrios, always joyful. My eternal sunshine.

Hello my name is Gladys, I need help funding my siblings funeral and memorial. She fought for several months with what we assumed was severe gastritis. Unfortunately due to being dismissed by doctors she went untreated for too long and was hospitalized on the 20th. Two weeks at Tri-City hospital with little improvement, she had become jaundiced and without treatment for such due to her enlarged heart, she was finally transferred to Scripps Memorial in La Jolla, as initially the concern was her heart failure. We had hoped being at one of the best cardiovascular institutes on the west coast would improve her health, and she did start recovering. Unfortunately, Sunday night, April 6th, her health took a turn for the worst. We had left her happily assuming she'd continue to improve, but our mother returned to find her swarmed with medics. She was unable to undergo testing immediately due to her heart condition and apparent kidney and liver failure. My parents and I, stayed overnight taking shifts watching her as my brother in law, Nelson, had to take care of their children. Late afternoon she underwent a CT scan in which they found out her digestive track had ruptured. Irreparable damage, and at this point they guided us through end of life care. She drifted off to sleep surrounded with love. Nelson, her children and we have to navigate life without her. Thank you so much for any and everything. All donations will go directly to her funeral services.
