Rochelle's Journey to a life-saving transplant
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rochelle. I'm a mother of 3, ages 13, 10, and 3. I've been dealing with lung disease since 2016. My disease was stable and life was looking up. I just had my first daughter that I wanted for so long. Then things took a turn for the worst; I caught COVID when my daughter was only 6 months old. I fought for my life for weeks in the hospital, trying to get back to my children and in the hopes that my baby girl didn't have to grow up without a mother. I won the fight, but I lost the battle. I made it home, but I didn't come home the same. For the last 3 years, I've been on oxygen. I'm in need of a lung transplant. I've been dealing with this in silence. Nobody really knows the pain and frustration I deal with daily to make it through the day. People keep telling me, "You're too young to be going through this." Don't I know it. I'm 35, wondering if I'll make it to see 40. Will I get to see my oldest graduate? Will I get to hold my first grandchild? What's going to happen to my children when I'm gone? I'm not one for asking for help. I'm used to doing everything alone. I was told a year ago to make a GoFundMe page; I would need the help in the long run. As bills are piling up and driving back and forth to the transplant center is getting harder to do, I'm afraid I have to admit I need help. If anyone can find it in their heart to donate to help save my life, I would highly appreciate it. Anything could help, even if it's just a dollar.
