Rocco's Emergency Surgery Fund

I really don't like asking for financial help. I feel like there are so many people out there in the world that need more help than me. So this is definitely a last resort. But I am at the point where I have no other choice but to ask. The vet bill is currently at $6,000 but will most likely be more. If you can't help financially that is 100% OK. I also need prayers. I'm scared and really sad. I've had Rocco for 5 years. I started his Instagram 5 years ago with no intention of him receiving the amount of love that you all have given him. It truly is amazing. Thank you for loving my dog. I'm so glad his fluffy butt has brought joy to so many of you. He truly is a gift and so are all of you.

Last Saturday 1/4/2020 Rocco ate part of a sock. We've always been careful about putting away dirty socks and underwear since both of my dogs like to chew on them. This day, we had finished doing laundry and put our clean laundry in the hamper. Rocco stole a clean sock off the top of the hamper while we were running errands. He had been acting normal until later the next week. Thursday he started having diarrhea. And Friday morning Rocco threw up 4 times. I immediately brought him to my regular vet. He was acting normal otherwise and we ultimately decided to wait and see how he was doing since he had his annual checkup scheduled for Monday. I was sent home with some nausea medication. When we got home he threw up again. I gave him the medication and left for work. When Chris got home he said Rocco was wining, pacing, drooling excessively, vomiting liquid and would not eat anything. As soon as I got home we left for the emergency vet.
At the emergency vet clinic they took x-rays and did blood work. The blood work came back normal but his x-rays showed two obstructions and some gas. We decided to leave him there overnight so they could monitor him and give him supportive care to see if he could pass the blockage and avoid surgery. At 7am this morning the Dr. called me since it was the end of his shift. He said that they finally got good pain management around 4am because he had been uncomfortable. He said he thought there may be some fluid buildup and his recommendation was to cut back on the pain meds (since he was pretty sedated) and put in an order for an ultrasound to see if the blockages had moved at all. The next shift came in and the did the ultrasound and ultimately it was decided to move ahead with surgery. He's currently in surgery and I'm waiting on the call for when he's finished.  I'll keep you posted on his progress and I'll update the donation amount if it changes.
Love,
Erin (aka Rocco's mom)
