ROCCO HARRIS' COMPOSITION RECITAL

This campaign is an effort to fund my senior recital & complete my undergraduate degree in music composition from  Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN).

I'll be producing a concert of my original works this coming fall--most likely early november. (I'll definitely share the date here as soon as I nail it down.) The program will be a minimum of 45 minutes of music that I've composed since I left Los Angeles City College & began my studies at CSUN.

I'm very pleased to be collaborating with the amazingly talented, LA-based ensemble Brightwork New Music (checkout their website here: brightworknewmusic.com). They're a fantastic group of world class musicians, & itb truly is an honor to be working with them on this project. The funds I aim to collect here will go towards the production of my recital: compensation for the players for their time in preparation, both individually & as an ensemble, as well as for the performance itself; use of facilities & equipment rental for rehearsal & the concert, which will include a high quality recording & sound engineer. I also know I can expect the unexpected when it comes to random production expenses. The more I raise here, the more time & resources that both I & the ensemble can invest into making this performance & recording a true representation of my musical output over the past few years.

I've been studying music composition for a good while now & it's finally time to wrap up my undergraduate studies. I've had the good fortune to work with some great teachers both at CSUN & at Los Angeles City College, where I first began my musical studies. This is kind of the most exciting part... the culmination of it all... an entire program of music that I dreamed up... I'm jazzed!! I've made some real progress & I look forward to sharing this music with you all.
