On behalf of the family of Roderic (Robbie) Walker, we have set up this GoFundMe to assist with memorial expenses and costs related to his untimely passing on 10-10-2020.

Back in July/August of 2019, Robbie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a more rare form of cancer.

His desire to beat it immediately kicked in and he began to implement aggressive healing processes to start the reversal and remission process.

Rod ultimately decided to begin chemotherapy and the journey began while he acquired the resources to attain alternative treatment options.

Over the past year, Rod handled chemo treatments, endured multiple blood transfusions and platelet infusions due to his bone marrow not producing healthy cells, dealt with white blood cell shots, random fevers and still NEVER complained.

He had his good days which were plenty and he had his not so good days as well.

He focused on his healing and keeping his mind and body strong.

Daily affirmations, motivational music, and spiritual upliftment were part of his regular routine.

Friends and family supported him wholly along his journey.

He maintained his head being held high but in times where he felt most vulnerable he allowed that part of himself to shine through too.

Over the last several weeks of his life he fought. And he fought hard. His zest for life was undeniable. And anyone who knew him and who was around him during this part of his life knew it, hands down.

A fighter of all fighters...he demonstrated no signs of giving up.

And to know Roc Steady was to know quitting was not an option!

After slipping away and coming back roughly 6 different times, (of which numerous nurses expressed they had NEVER seen anyone come back that many times) Rod made his official transition on Saturday October 10, 2020 at 6:41am est.

At this time, arrangements are being made to have him flown back home to Chicago for his memorial service and home going celebration.

In an effort to cover these expenses, the family is asking for your help in assisting in any way you can contribute.
