Hello, my name’s Robyn and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this….
I have stage 4 melanoma and I’ve been having treatment at the Christie since 2018. It started as a tiny mole on my shoulder and then spread to my spine, lung and then to my brain, and now I’ve got another new tumour in my brain.
This particular tumour can’t be treated with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) like previously because the area has already been treated twice before, but this tumour has grown and changed significantly recently.
(SRS is a highly precise form of radiotherapy that uses focused beams of radiation to treat small areas, typically in the brain.)
On the 8th of November 2025, I was admitted into the Christie and told I only had days left to live, but somehow I’m still here and waiting to start a new treatment!
The treatment options are limited, and the recommended treatment path includes a combined immunotherapy that isn’t covered by the NHS as I’ve tried it before. The treatment has shown promise for me in the past, and my medical team believes it gives me the best chance of slowing the cancer’s progression. But without NHS funding, I can only access it privately.
I’m doing everything I can to keep fighting. I want more time with the people I love. I want more ordinary days. I want to stay here.
However, this particular combined immunotherapy treatment costs £30,000 a month!
The cost of ongoing treatment is financially more than I can manage on my own. I’ve reached the point where I need to ask for help.
Any contribution you’re able to make will go directly toward my treatment. Truly, every single donation, no matter the size, helps move me closer to the care I need.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to me. Your support in any form gives me strength and hope!
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping me continue this fight.
My parents will be receiving the funds to their bank account on my behalf.
With all of my love and gratitude,
Robyn
