This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but here goes…

As many of you know, in March of 2023, I lost my right leg. What you may not know is why. Earlier that year, I had a minor injury to my foot. Due to an unknown and underlying autoimmune disease, the minor injury became very serious, leading to both bone and blood infections that I fought for the better part of a year. I lost that fight when I lost my leg.

For the last two years, I have fought and struggled to maintain a positive outlook. I fight for my kids and with my kids. I have taken to my prosthetic leg with positive results and have started working part-time substituting for my kids' school district. I thought everything was getting better.

Sadly, a few days ago, I found out that I have a bone and blood infection again. My insurance will not cover the medicines that I need, and I am faced with huge medical payments, many of them needed upfront before treatment can be administered.
