74 y/o retired physician living in Denver with husband. Diagnosed in 12/20 with a rare form of Large B Cell Lymphoma that is extremely difficult to treat. I underwent 2 cycles of standard CHOP treatment while living in Rancho Mirage, CA area - however this therapy was not fully effective against my malignancy. My husband was recently recruited as an Associate Professor at Regis University in Denver which led us to move to Denver (our daughter & grandson live nearby as well). I've begun care at UCHealth Blood Disorders Clinic and they offer leading edge potentially curative treatments for the type of cancer that I have, which is exciting. However, the treatments that I have gotten so far (which are necessary as a lead up to the therapy to be given to me here) have resulted in a 45lb weight loss and extreme fatigue and weakness, especially in my legs and the weakness is likely to worsen through the next months of therapy. Our house is 2 stories and I must have a chaperone to go up or down the stairs as the risk of falling is significant.
I started this Go Fund Me page to assist in raising funds in order to install a chair lift system on the stairs to give me independence to use the stairs without a chaperone. Our move here was totally out of pocket and unpaid by Toby's new employer so that our liquid funds have been stretched !
Any assistance you can provide will be deeply and sincerely appreciated.
