Rob's Medical Bills and Stroke Recovery

Donation protected
I’m writing this for my younger brother Rob because he would never write it for himself, and unfortunately is not able to.
On December 4, 2022, at age 44, my younger brother Rob suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and lost use of the right side of his body, as well as his ability to speak. Rob is a beloved father, son, brother, cousin, and friend to many. He is also a talented musician and incredible cook who enjoyed playing music and cooking for his friends, family and neighbors. Rob is a proud father to his son, Joshua and loved telling people how he would teach Josh to prepare a dish, only to have Josh’s version turn out better than his own. Unfortunately, Rob is no longer able to share his gifts. He can no longer remember the words to the songs he used to love to sing. He can walk again, but the limited use of his right arm and hand has robbed him of his ability to play guitar and cook.
If you know Rob, you know that he doesn’t know a stranger– only friends. He helped any person or animal he encountered with the gift of his food or his time. Recently Rob was growing an organic garden and planned to share the fruits and vegetables with anyone in need. He also started feeding a neighborhood cat colony.
After a lifetime of helping others, Rob now needs help. After months in several rehab facilities, he has regained the ability to speak, but the damage to his brain is severe, and he is often frustrated as he struggles to find words and express himself. Rob also suffers from mental illness, which complicates his recovery.
Rob has a long road ahead of him. Rob was a struggling cook/musician and did not have medical insurance. His medical bills are mounting, and he needs ongoing physical, occupational, and speech therapy as part of his recovery. We are asking for donations to help pay for outstanding medical bills, insurance for ongoing treatment, and repairs to his home to help make adaptations for his condition. Any donation possible is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this with anyone that knows the Mass family and would like to help.
From Rob and the Mass and de la Zerda families, thank you so much and God bless.
