Rob’s Final Journey-Help in His Last Months

Donation protected

Rob’s life has been a testament to resilience and unwavering spirit. He embraces his family with love, pours his heart into his work, finds solace in the game of baseball, and seeks wisdom within the pages of books. Rob's passion shines through, and his contagious laughter warms the hearts of those around him.

Yet, Rob has faced an unyielding battle with his health. In 2004, at the age of 36, he received the devastating diagnosis of late-stage lung cancer. Since then, he has fought bravely, enduring rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and invasive surgeries. Unfortunately, in 2014, a completely new type of cancer was found when he was diagnosed with head and neck cancer.

Once again, Rob braved the now familiar dance of chemo, radiation, and surgery. To survive, Rob had his lymph nodes and half of his tongue removed. This surgery, combined with the paralyzed vocal cord, has left Rob with persistent speech disabilities and a permanent gastric tube. Despite all the issues from his last surgery and multiple infections, Rob continued to work until now. His voice may have changed, however, Rob's commitment to helping others grow in their careers never wavered.

Now residing in Colorado, Rob's focus has shifted to spending precious time with his family in Nebraska and his beloved son, who has become his beacon of light. However, the toll of his health struggles has rendered him unable to work, plunging him into financial hardship. Medical bills have accumulated, compounded by the absence of disability insurance. Rob's burden weighs heavy, adding to the challenges of his final days.

In this time of immense difficulty, we have the power to make a difference. Your support, no matter the size, can alleviate the financial strain and bring comfort to Rob as he navigates the last stages of his life. Together, we can ensure that his remaining time is filled with peace and solace, allowing him to focus on creating meaningful memories with his loved ones.

By contributing to this cause, your generosity will directly alleviate the mounting medical expenses and provide much-needed assistance with household bills. Addditionally, when the time comes to arrange Rob's funeral, donations will be utilized to give him the care and dignity he deserves. Let us come together and lighten the load for Rob, expressing our compassion and gratitude for the laughter, guidance, and joy he has brought to our lives.

If Rob has touched your life through his guidance and support in your career; if he has provided you with love and friendship; if he has shared your family table; if he has made you laugh with his hilarious stories; or if you are moved by his story and military service; please considering donating.

Rob has given consent for this GoFundMe campaign. He requested that Tanya, his former spouse and good friend, coordinate this effort. Rob and Tanya continue to coparent their wonderful son, Wolfgang, together.

We greatly appreciate your generosity, positive thoughts, and support as we continue to hope for one more reprieve and many more Rob stories.

* I just want to say thank you to everyone. You’ve all been so supportive. Rob has been absolutely bowler over by everyone’s kindness and generosity. He is now in the process of moving to a small apartment just down the street from where I live. I feel so much better knowing that he will be close by.
