Hello Everyone! Every year the CT STEM ACADEMY, located in Wallingford, CT, runs a VEX IQ Robotics Club where elementary and middle school students learn how to design, build, test, program and lastly compete with their robot.
This year we are thrilled to have two teams receive invites to the 2023 VEX World Championship in Dallas, TX! Out of the eleven spots for Connecticut teams, our program took two of them! These young students worked hard throughout the season, overcoming challenges and adapting their robots along the way. Their dedication and perseverance paid off and they are excited to represent the United States in May!
We are seeking donations to help cover travel expenses, as well as entrance fees ($1,500 per robot), parts and supplies for our teams to use while they are competing.
At the CT State Finals 55508A, our Elementary School team, won both the Teamwork and Design award. Going into the State Finals they were ranked 7th amongst the elementary group and came out on top with a 1st place score during the competition.Team 55508C, our Middle School team, was ranked 4th in the state going into the State Finals. Throughout the season they won three awards: Teamwork Challenge, the Excellence Award, and the Think Award. Their spot at Worlds was hand picked by the REC Foundation Regional Division.
The teams appreciate any support you can offer to help them get to Dallas!
The Wallingford VEX IQ Robotics program is run by the CT STEM Academy. The program teaches elementary and middle school students how to build, code, and compete against other Connecticut robotics teams. It takes an extreme amount of dedication from these young students as they meet six months out of the year on a weekly basis to work on their robots. We are extremely proud of all of our participants. Please help team 55508A and 55508C achieve their dreams at the 2023 VEX IQ World Championship!
