Hi! My name is Emily Nam and I am a student at the Academy of Holy Angels.
I am a member of my school's Robotics team and I enjoy the academic and emotional enrichment of learning how to build robots. It has taught me persistence and resilience as I tackle real-world problems.
In light of the COVID-19 crisis, millions of schools have transitioned to online learning, and many students in underserved communities lack the proper tools to take part in "distance learning." With their education put on hold, many children are left idle without meaningful academic engagement.
I have established Robotic Seeds as an initiative to give such students a unique supplementary education that is not accessible through distance learning. My goal is to provide elementary school students with do-it-yourself robotics sets in order to expand my vision of providing students with a means to express their creative sides, giving them an opportunity to explore an interest in STEM, and building perseverance!
I hope to raise enough money to donate robotics sets to underprivileged students.
