Robin's Stem Cell Transplant Expenses

Donation protected
Hello! As many of you know, my mother, Robin Crosier, has been battling a rare and aggressive lymphoma called Angioimmunoblastic T Cell lymphoma. Mom has been a true warrior in her battle against this terrible cancer for the past two years. She has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant using her own stem cells, participated in clinical trials, traveled to MD Anderson in Texas and to both Sarah Cannon Research Institute and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee and much more. It has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but Mom is (as always) a pillar of strength and positivity. She is truly the strongest woman on the planet, and certainly my hero ❤️

Mom has now been referred to the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. We feel extremely fortunate and blessed that she has been given this opportunity at NIH as they truly are the most intelligent, kind and supportive medical staff. We know she is in the very best of hands and if anyone can cure this awful disease, it is the team at NIH

Mom will now be undergoing another stem cell transplant this time using donor stem cells.  After rounds of tests at NIH, my sister Natalie has been selected as a donor. Mom will be admitted into the NIH hospital on July 15th where she will undergo (once again) intense chemo therapy. My sister will begin the process to encourage stem cell production with daily shots beginning on July 27th. On August 1st, they will harvest Natalie's stem cells and my mother will undergo the stem cell transplant on August 2nd. She will remain in the hospital at NIH until early September.

Upon being released from the hospital, she will need to remain in Bethesda, MD until early November in order to have follow up visits and after care.  The good news is that NIH is paying for ALL of her medical care before, during and after my mother's stem cell transplant. So we can all feel good about our federal tax dollars going to something good (for once ). NIH also will reimburse Mom a small amount of money to assist with her long-term stay in Bethesda. However, the reimbursement is extremely conservative and will barely cover the cost for her needed accommodations at an extended stay hotel or apartment rental. She will also need a caretaker to be with her at all times and we are currently creating a schedule where different family members and friends will need to travel to Bethesda and assist Mom with getting groceries, taking her to dr appts and ensuring she rests and recovers.

And so the reason for this much needed Go Fund Me request. My Mom in all her strength and positivity will tell you that she is not worried about the grueling chemo and stem cell transplant she faces. Rather what keeps her up at night is all of the expenses for her long-term stay in Bethesda, which you can imagine is NOT cheap.  After 2 years of battling this awful cancer, her savings has been depleted.  We estimate she will need approximately $10K to cover 2 months of housing, groceries, airfare travel for her caretakers (as Mom REALLY does not want people to pay for this out of their own pockets) and any incidentals needed during this time.

My Mom has always been the first person to step up to take care of others, for her friends, family, co-workers, even strangers. So now we ask, can you help? No amount is too small and every donation will be so appreciated, more than we can possibly say in this story. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from that of my sister and brother, our children, our aunts, my mother's husband David, and more.❤️‍
