Robin's Mom: From Dropout to Dr.
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Robin Brown. My Mom Antoinette Bridgeforth, is on a journey to complete her
Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Management at Capella University.
For over 30 years, my mom has worked with at-risk youth, high school dropouts, families, and
communities through her passion work initiative Community Reform. A former at-risk youth,
high school dropout, and gang banger, my Mom has now dedicated her life to breaking cycles of
illiteracy and underachievement through her literacy initiative, RISE (Reading Ignites Scholar
Excellence),
✨ Her mission is simple but urgent: every child deserves the gift of literacy..
Why This Degree Matters
This accomplishment is not just about becoming Dr. Bridgeforth, it is about equipping her to
serve the community better. With advanced training in educational leadership, she will:
●
Strengthen community literacy programs.
●
Expand RISE, ensuring more children have access to early reading support.
●
Build scholar pipelines from K–12 students into higher education.
●
Develop sustainable, data-driven models that can be replicated across underserved
communities.
Completing her doctoral studies means bringing scholarly research and practical solutions
directly into the lives of the families she serves.
My Goal
I need to raise $5,000 to cover tuition and related expenses. This investment will directly impact
my Mom’s ability to start and finish her last two didactic courses strong and reach her applied
improvement project AIP (final phase of program).
