To our family, friends, and community,

We are reaching out today with heavy hearts, but with a shared purpose: to support our incredible mom as she faces the fight of her life.

For those who may not know, our mom was officially diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in September 2025. ALS is a terminal neurodegenerative disease that targets the body’s motor neurons. It’s often called a "thief" because it slowly takes away a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe, while their mind remains perfectly sharp.

The journey started back in January 2025. It was a long, confusing, and exhausting road of testing and doctors' appointments before we finally received the news that changed everything.

We grew up in the Eastern Townships near Sherbrooke, Quebec. As we got older, we (Lauren and Rachael) ventured off to build our lives—Lauren in Montreal and Rachael in Ontario. Through every move and every career milestone, our mom has been our biggest cheerleader, always encouraging us to chase our dreams.

But a diagnosis like this shifts your entire perspective. While careers and ambitions matter, we’ve realized that family is the only thing that truly counts. Mom is moving from Quebec to Ontario to be closer to family.

The reality of ALS is physically and financially overwhelming. Our mom is now in a wheelchair; she has lost the ability to use her legs and can no longer move on her own. As the disease progresses, her needs are changing daily.

To give her the quality of life she deserves and set her up for success in her new home, we are facing significant expenses. We want to give our mom a life filled with comfort, dignity, and love, despite what this disease is taking from her. While we are doing everything we can as her daughters (along with the rest of her family and friends), the financial burden is more than any family can carry alone.

If you are able to donate, your support will go directly toward the equipment and care that allows Mom to live safely and comfortably as well as allow us as a family to spend time together making memories. If you aren't able to give, please consider sharing this page or keeping our mom in your thoughts.

Thank you for being part of her village.

With love and gratitude,

Rachael & Lauren
