Supporting Robin Knott (Ballance)

As many of you may know, Robin’s husband, Stuart Knott, passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly on the 1st of October this year. He was 37 years old, fit and healthy, but collapsed and died just before the end of the Stellenbosch 5km Park Run from heart failure.

Robin and Stuart had been married for 9 months and Robin is 5 and a half months pregnant with a little boy.  Stuart had just been offered a promising job and things were starting to come together for them after Stuart lost his farm and livelihood during the upheaval and land invasions in Zimbabwe in 2012.

Stuart and Robin were just starting out so there is not much financial security for her to fall back on and she has a number of pressing financial needs in the short term and then the obvious long term concerns that come with being a single parent. Many friends and family have expressed a strong desire to help in any way they can, particularly financially, to help get her back on her feet and to buy her some time to do so. We are also hoping to set up a savings fund for her child's future.
