I'm starting this GoFundMe to help cover upcoming funeral costs for my mother, who went on hospice yesterday, and to help me pay bills while I'm off on unpaid leave from work, leaving all the bills falling on my husband.

We thought Mom had life insurance, but unfortunately, her policy stopped being paid due to money problems. Mom has been battling a disease called Buerger's disease. It's a blood clot/circulation disorder that can be caused by smoking. She has had both legs amputated, one in 2015 and one in 2018.

Back at the beginning of January this year, the bottom of her right stump started to turn black. We made several ER trips to U of L, and nothing they were having us do was helping. She had infection after infection, causing her so much pain, so many hospital stays, and so many surgeries.

She's done, and she is tired. With this recent hospital stay, she has refused any further treatments and has chosen hospice care. She has been given about three weeks to live.
