Robin Posekany Bopp Has Breast Cancer...Please Help!

After a routine mammogram in early May, Robin got a call to return to the return to the clinic for some additional testing. The docs soon confirmed that Robin did have a rare form of breast cancer. The tumor was just large enough that a more aggressive course of treatment was indicated, and within just a few days, Robin found herself enmeshed in ‘cancer world’ including a new chemo port and a packed schedule of testing, infusions, and treatments. As of this writing, Robin has had 4 courses of chemotherapy and will likely have 2 more, followed by surgery, with next steps to be determined based on outcomes. The great news is that Henry and Robin have medical insurance. The tough news is that it is a high deductible policy, and they will continue to have many medical bills that will not be covered. Robin's team has advised her against working during treatment. Henry, being Henry, has added a part-time job on top of his primary job of taking care of Robin and his full-time job at LDV. A recent car accident with an uninsured motorist and the increased hours away from home have made this even more challenging.

So, back to the good news. Robin has a stellar medical team around her, including a case manager, social worker, oncologist, plastic surgeon as well as a lot of wonderful nurses. Henry has been amazing, as have Robin’s sisters Megan and Jody. We are writing to ask if you might consider joining Robin’s support team by providing some financial breathing room, so that Robin and her family can focus all of their energies on getting Robin well, without the stress and dread of a looming financial catastrophe.

Those of us that have had the good fortune of having Robin in our lives over the past many years know well her kindness and generosity of spirit. Robin is one who cares deeply for her people, her animals, her community and our planet. Now its time for us to rally around our girl. We need Robin’s beautiful spirit in the world, and we need Henry's stress level lowered to keep our good friend together with Henry's terrible jokes for many years to come.
