Robin Olds Bronze Bust, Wings Over the Rockies
Tax deductible
James Nance Sculpture Studio is seeking sponsors to fund a monumental-scale bronze portrait bust of triple ace, USAF Brigadier General Robin Olds, for permanent display at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver. Your donation will help ensure the legacy of one of America's greatest patriots and air warriors.
The sculpture will become a permanent addition to the Southeast Asia war exhibit at Wings over the Rockies Aviation Museum in Denver Colorado. The Museum has expressed a strong desire to acquire this sculpture to honor all air warriors and would like to showcase it for the upcoming Air Force Historical Foundation convention the museum is hosting in September of 2023. A letter accepting this sculpture from the museum CEO, Maj General John Barry, USAF (ret) is copied below this message.
The bust was sculpted by James Nance, a portrait sculptor who specializes in war memorials. Jim is a 1971 graduate of the Air Force Academy and a Vietnam veteran AF pilot. It is modeled after his full-figure portrait of Robin Olds which was installed at the Air Warrior Combat Memorial at the Academy in late 2021. The sculpture depicts Robin complete with a mustache, circa 1967 “Operation Bolo.” The full-size figure and bust are officially licensed and endorsed by Robin's daughter Christina Olds.
Tax-deductible donations of any size are greatly appreciated. For donations over $1,000, the donor’s name will be included in a cast bronze plaque displayed with the bust. All donations will be used exclusively to cover the production cost of the Sculpture. Once the funding goal has been met, the campaign will close and the funds will be transferred to the Museum. The museum will then contract with James Nance Sculpture Studio for the casting and delivery of the sculpture. The fundraising campaign will end on 31 December 2023 or sooner if the goal is reached. If the target donation goal is not reached by 31 December 2023, the Museum will still receive the bust and the artist will cover the difference.
All charitable giving through Go-Fund-Me is processed through their partner "PayPal Giving Fund" which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. You will receive a tax deduction receipt from Paypal Giving Fund which will in turn transfer the funds to Wings Over the Rockies which is also a 501c3 nonprofit. The collected donations by law can only be disbursed to Wings Over The Rockies by PayPal Giving Fund. Go-fund-me charges a 2.99% processing fee which is automatically taken from each donation.
Thank you for your kind consideration and your interest in ensuring the legacy of Robin Olds.
Cheers, Jim Nance

To Prospective Sponsors:
Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is committed to our Mission of educating, inspiring and exciting all people about aviation and space endeavors of the past, present and future.
In 2023 our Museum will be focusing on the Vietnam era and one of the iconic leaders during that period was BG Robin Olds. We have a display at our Lowry Museum dedicated to Fighter Pilots and we would be honored to include a bust of General Olds sculptured by Jim Nance as part of our exhibits.
If anyone is willing to sponsor the purchase of the sculpture, it would stand in perpetuity for an exceptional warrior who was a true combat leader and Ace in our United States Air Force.
Very respectfully,
John Barry | President/CEO
