Help Robin King go home!

Hi, my name is Patti, and Robin is my first cousin. Robin has had Spina Bifida since birth, and he’s a living miracle to put it directly! He’s been through over 70 surgeries in his life, and many times wasn’t expected to survive, but Robin has more Hope and Faith than anyone I’ve ever seen, and has defied all the odds against him. Through the years, Robin has worked, even when his health wouldn’t allow him to move, he worked! He never gave up, and he NEVER complained. He sold Christmas trees, hauling those trees around like he was Superman, he cleaned offices, he worked at convenience stores, etc… He was also a photographer for years. Robin didn’t let anything stop him. He has always had a unique drive and will like no other! He never sat back and let others take care of him. He even took care of others along the way! 2 years ago, during Covid, Robin had a fall from his wheelchair, resulting in a gash on his hip. As he always has, he brushed himself off and put himself right back in his chair. Several months later, that sore had turned infectious and he was hospitalized, then moved to a nursing facility for ongoing treatment. No one knew he had developed fluid in his lungs. A nursing staff entered his room to find Robin had coded. She called for help and after several attempts, they brought Robin back. He was put back in the hospital, where this same scenario happened twice more in a span of a month. By the grace of God, each time someone was there within minutes, and he was revived! At this point, Robin was placed on a ventilator. He had a huge choice to make. He would either risk this same scenario again, with mucus blocking his airway, causing more heart attacks, or be placed on a permanent ventilator. He made the terribly difficult decision to on a ventilator, because as he puts it , “I have so many things I still want to do in this life, and obviously God’s not through with me yet”. Very soon after having his ventilator in, Robin passed a swallow test allowing him to eat real food! The first night, he ate a cheeseburger and later ate pizza. He did his research and found with a certain device he would be able to talk with his own voice, which he does daily. He suffered NO brain damage from his 3 episodes. God certainly surrounded this man with angels! After about 12 months in Pineville, NC, Atrium hospital, where he received extraordinary care, becoming like family to the staff, he was transferred, and is currently in Winston-Salem, NC in a nursing facility. He spends his days yearning to go home. His home is in Kings Mountain, NC, where friends and family have recently set up fundraisers to make this a reality! The expense taking care of Robin at home will not be a cakewalk! Even though his disability will take care of much of the expense, he will be responsible for 8 hours a day care, resulting in his part to be about $250 per day. With many prayers and people pulling together to help, this miracle can happen!! Not only is Robin a brilliant, beautiful, wise soul, Robin is so talented, spending a lot of his time using paint dots to create artwork. I would love nothing more than to see him go home, relax in his own bed, and prayerfully get to living the life God still has in store for him ! Please pray, donate whatever you feel led to help with, and know that Robin will appreciate every single prayer said and penny given! Thanks so much for giving your time to read !
