Robin Ames Memorial Run
Donation protected
My friend, Robin Ames was tragically struck by a car and killed while riding his bike on February 17th of 2020. He was 37 years old. Robin left behind his wife, Karrah, and two daughters Charolette and Ellie.
Robin lived his life to the fullest and inspired so many others to do the same. He was an avid outdoorsman hiking, rafting, biking and climbing in his home state of West Virginia and throughout the US. He was a close friend of mine and I wouldn't have been able to graduate West Virginia University without his help and guidance.
I am dedicating a 100K (62 miles) run in his memory on November 21 (rain date November 22nd), 2020. I would like to turn this into an annual memorial run, but for this year I am utilizing this run to raise money for Karrah and his two daughters for the upcoming holiday season. I also want to help shine light on the seriousness of distracted driving. Not only does this affect me as his friend, but also as an avid runner. I am out on the road on a daily basis, with my fellow runners and bikers. We are husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers. We far too often encounter drivers not paying attention. Even if you do not donate, please put down the phone while driving, be vigilant, and share the road.
Please donate per mile or whatever you can. All funds will go directly to Karrah Ames.
