Rob was nicknamed “Handsome Rob” by his friends not because of stunning looks, but because of his shining personality, huge heart and overall genuine charm- handsome on the inside.

6 months ago Rob was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. With the prayers and emotional support of his family and friends, he endured 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation- all while continuing to work to support his wife and two children. A few weeks later when he was supposed to undergo tumor removal, his surgeon found a tumor surrounding his celiac artery. Extraction would have almost certainly killed Rob, so nothing was done. Rob’s cancer was declared stage 4, and he was given 1 ½ years to live.

Anyone who knows Handsome Rob knows he is a fighter and much too positive to accept such a fate without swinging back- and swinging back hard. With family, friends, co-workers (and even people who have only “met” him through others’ stories) in his corner with hope, prayer and positive vibes, Rob continues his quest for living a long life. He is already back to work at his job, guiding his children, fixing his sister’s car, working in the backyard, and generally being as rambunctious as ever.

At 47 years young Rob has a wife, Corrina, of 19 years and two children- Justin, 18 and Megan, 13. Rob just saw Justin graduate from high school and believes he will see him graduate from Sacramento State University in four years. Rob also believes he will see Megan graduate from high school as well as college. This life has so much in store for him to be a part of, see and do. And everyone surrounding him believes the same because to know Rob is to know pure love and true beauty; someone who shines as brightly as Rob does simply cannot fade so easily or so soon.

Among his every day routines, Rob has- with the help of his family- sought alternative treatment to the one that says he has only 1 ½ years maximum to live. The future for Rob’s health with these non-traditional therapies- which have helped so many others- is promising, but it doesn’t come without cost. Please join Rob’s family and friends in keeping him handsome by support through a donation- and if you are so inclined, a prayer.

Thank you for taking time to read Rob’s story and being involved for his zest for life and quest to live!
