Rebuild after Huge Landslide
Donation protected
I'm raising money to help my good friends, Mike and Adele Roberts rebuild their house after a landslide caused approximately $10,000 in damages.
On Saturday June 13th, at 3:15am, the municipal water pipe on the mountain above their house broke, triggering a massive landslide. A rock the size of a minivan smashed into Mike & Adele's bedroom while they were sleeping, completely destroying the wall, and blowing out several pillars. Their bed was pushed clear to the opposite wall, and they were showered with rubble. Rocks and mud smashed through their windows and filled the house a foot deep with sludge. Miraculously, both of them were unharmed.
They now face the daunting task of rebuilding. Two rooms suffered severe damages and must be rebuilt. The retaining wall behind their house must be rebuilt as well (as it is now right up against the house). They also need to dig canals to divert further rainfall, and plant fast-growing grass and bamboo to prevent more mud from coming down.
They own and operate a small coffee shop, so don't have a large income. Their savings were invested in the house. Any help would be a huge encouragement to them.
