For those of you that don’t know, my father and brother have fallen victim to the devastation of the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. My father is a captain with Cal Fire and my step mom is working in the medical field helping and touching the lives of countless people every day. With them are my two siblings, Caleb and Kori. Caleb was on the Paradise High school football team and Kori very involved and invested in dancing at a local dance studio. My older brother, Kameron and his fiancé Angie recently just moved back home from Oregon after Angie graduated from University of Oregon. Kameron has always worked fixing things for people, i.e. cars, and glass repairs, and Angie is now a probation officer in Susanville. My nephew, Michael, is 6 years old and the sweetest little firecracker around!
On the morning of November 8th, they lost everything. The Camp Fire has demolished my entire hometown and taken everything from so many people. My family was left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. My childhood home my father bought over 20 years, just gone. My heart is completely breaking for him knowing he has lost everything he had built and things within those walls are burnt to ashes.. including items that belonged to his father (my grandfather) that passed away just three short months ago in August. This year has been a devastating one for my family. I will never be able to shake the feeling knowing my family suffered such a horrendous, near death experience as they were driving through “a tunnel of fire” to escape with their lives. So many people have been found deceased (71 to date, with 1011 still missing) and/or left without their pets and all belongings have been lost forever. Although I can not retrieve the numerous family heirlooms and provide them with anything but support, I would like to help them regain their pride and help restore their lives back to normalcy.
I am so grateful they are all alive, but it is going to take a lot of time, heartache, and money to get them back to where they need to be. I would like to help lessen the burden as they’re already facing so much loss and uncertainty. No donation is too small! Thank you and God bless! ❤️
