Roberts Family in Need
Donation protected
On Saturday, September 23rd Matt was involved in a bonfire accident that resulted in gasoline exploding on him. He was emergency air lifted by helicopter from Harford County to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn ICU. Upon arrival we found out that he had second and third degree burns over 20% of his body. The areas wounded include both his hands, his right arm, his abdomen, his right ribs, and both of his thighs. Every 12 hours Matt has dressing changes across all of his wounds that focus on the debridement process which removes all dead tissue and heals the skin. This healing process is long and painful but allows the body to naturally regrow his skin. On Friday September 29th they determined that his thighs were not making progress and they conducted skin grafting surgery on them. They used the back of his right thigh as the donor site which is large and painful. The surgery went well and we will find out the results of the grafts later this week. As he continues to recover in the ICU we appreciate your support, thoughts, and prayers during this time.
