Robert's Tuba Fund

Hi Everyone! I'm trying to raise money to buy myself a new, more professional tuba. I have outgrown the one I currently own and need something better. Unfortunately college is expensive and so are tubas so I am turning to crowd funding. The cost of attendance at University of the Pacific this year is about $68,199.  My  goal is to get a Chinese made replica of a German tuba(~$10,000) instead of a real German horn (~$25,000). I currently have a 4/4 size horn and the standard in the professional world of tubas is 6/4. This tuba is an investment in my future.  This is a tuba I will keep for the rest of my life. 

I need a more professional horn because I have been getting into the world of paid gigs for my tuba playing and joining more professional groups. One such group is the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at University of the Pacific. In the Conservatory of Music's  Symphonic Wind Ensemble this year and we will be playing at Carnegie Hall in New York, Stanford University and recording a CD at Stanford. I want to sound as good as I can for these very important performances. I also have been asked to join more and more ensembles outside of school. This past summer I played with the Pleasanton Community Concert Band, joined the Livermore-Amador Symphony Youth Orchestra for their end of season concert and other paid gigs around the bay area. I don't want my instrument being the thing holding me back from sounding as professional as I can for these various groups. 

If any of you know me you know I love playing the tuba. Last semester I added a major to double in Tuba Performance and Music Composition. Unfortunately I would have to stay longer than 4 years to accomplish a double major. I have since reverted back to just majoring in Music Composition but I will continue to take my tuba playing seriously. The sooner I can get this horn the sooner I can get to know my sound and perfect my craft with this horn.
