Hello everyone. My name is Robert, and I am currently in the process of interviewing with medical schools while working as a full-time EMT and volunteering as a football coach. Becoming a doctor has been a dream of mine since the beginning of my undergraduate years. However, the medical school application process can be long, difficult, and financially burdensome. Despite applying for financial assistance and fee waivers to be able to take my MCAT exam and apply for schools this cycle, it has significantly set me back financially. While medical schools are conducting virtual interviews, some of the schools that have given me the opportunity to interview are in person. Conducting interviews out of state is financially challenging because it requires me to take time off work and cover lodging and travel expenses. As fortunate as I am to be able to participate in the medical school application process, it is very difficult to support myself financially throughout this important time period in my life.
