Hi all, this is Robert Durham, (right side) my 38 year old brother. Robert was born with Renal Kidney Failure.  At the age of 15 he received a kidney transplant from our wonderful Aunt, Linda. Almost 3 years later, the kidney rejected forcing Robert into Kidney Dialysis. Approximately 2 years later, my oldest brother Mike (most of you know him as he is a local LawEnforcement Officer) underwent surgery and donated a second kidney to Robert.  With that kidney transplant completed and functioning well, Robert found full time employee at Renown Regional Medical Center, where he has worked the past 20 years. Approximately 3 years into this transplant, the transplanted kidney developed a rare disease and rejected, forcing Robert back into dialysis. 

Now 16 years later and still awaiting another transplant, Robert has had an abundance of operations for a magnitude of issues, congested heart failure, blood clots, failed dialysis injection sites, all leading to a total of 124 surgeries. 

Even with all these surgeries and dialysis 3 times a week, Robert manages to get to work most days. Get to a place that inevitably helps others.

During this last surgery (3/13/2020) I was speaking with my mom and learned Robert has been struggling with some of his bills. The cause of this is that Renown changed his hours. The change in hours forces him to burn 4.5 hours of vacation a week just to attend Dialysis. I learned he earns almost 7 hours a check. With his continued medical needs that puts him negative hours every pay period. Plus times like these where he is hospitalized, he doesn’t have time to cover the missed shifts therefore he doesn’t receive pay. 

Keeping all this in mind and understanding I truly haven’t even touched 3/4 of the issues Robert goes through daily, I’d ask that people out there help by making a monetary donation.I set the goal at $2,500.00 but will gladly take what you can Give.
