Hello this is Robert, Robert is one of the many miracles that was born at 24 weeks weighing a tiny 710g.

At 2 days old Robert suffered a life changing level 4 bleed on his brain which has left him with many severe and challenging complex needs.

Robert has been diagnosed with complex epilepsy which professionals are still struggling to medically control. His seizures can last up to several hours which have resulted in him being put into a medically induced coma.

Robert has also been diagnosed with all 4 limb cerebral palsy which has affected his mobility, Robert is unable to walk, stand or crawl meaning his mum does all his 24 hour needs and wants.

Robert is 4 years old and as you can imagine the more Robert is growing the heavier he is to carry and it is becoming unsafe carrying him upstairs for a bath or even to put him in bed. He also has his seizures mostly on a night time while he is in bed and it’s becoming a struggle for his mum to carry him down the stairs fast enough to administer his rescue medication in attempt to stop his seizure in time. We are hoping our community can come together to try and raise some money to put Roberts bathroom downstairs and get a wet room suitable for him which then they can extend his bedroom so that a medical lift can be placed where the bathroom originally is now upstairs. That way when Robert has a seizure in his bed his mum can lift him straight into the lift and be straight downstairs.

Robert’s mum just wants their home to be a comfortable and accessible home and most importantly to be safe for her son.
