Hi everyone, my name is Mildreth and I am fundraising for my brother, Robert Acosta.
He stands at 6’2” and could seem intimidating with his large and strong frame. Yet, he is the most gentle, lovable, soft person you can come across.
A genuine “Teddy Bear ,”
Robert, always thinks of others before himself. He doesn’t hesitate to do what is asked of him. He gives the best big and long hugs, he listens attentively and reassures you when in need. He is always smiling and good natured.
When ever Uncle/Grandpa Robert is around, kids sure get their pockets filled up, often dishing out dollar bills and occasionally the big $20 bill.
Robert has also dressed as Santa for many Christmas’s and has brought joy not only to our family but also to Stanton Elementary school in the community. His famous line, “Ho Ho Ho, have you been good this year boys and girls.”
And who can forget the countless times he is outside of his garage enjoying an evening making hotdogs. He would offer kids who would pass by a hotdog . These are just a few examples of what an extraordinary person Robert is.
We learned of devastating news this week. Robert is in need of a liver transplant. This calamitous diagnosis has also affected his kidneys and he is currently undergoing dialysis daily.
Doctors are helping Robert and he may soon be able to be transferred to Dallas in order to see if he is a candidate for a liver transplant. He has been feeling ill for a few weeks and most recently has been in critical care in ICU.
Robert and his family could use your help financially to cover the cost of lost wages (mortgage payments, Insurance premiums, etc) due to hospitalizations, Multiple Doctor visits, and expenses that will accrue with transferring to Dallas where he could be for a few months.
Robert is a fighter for sure, he embodies the true definition of ‘ Work Hard, Play Hard’. He chases LIFE instead of dollar bills.
Please help if you can financially to decrease the burden he and his loved ones will face. This way they can concentrate on his well being and help him through this process. His family thanks you in advance for your generosity from the bottom of their hearts. Please PRAY for him.
Thank you
