Our son Robert Jr. was born with multiple heart defects: Truncus Arteriosus, Biventricular Hypertrophy, Hypoplastic left ventricle mitral valve, ASD, VSD, and PAPVR. He was diagnosed with HLHS before he was born, but that was not the case; he ended up having multiple defects. He had his first open-heart surgery when he was a week old to place PA bands to reduce the blood flow to his lungs. He was able to come home on Halloween 2025 but was admitted to the hospital on November 11 for RSV. On December 2nd, he was airlifted to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, where he was evaluated and Drs determined heart transplant is his only option. On January 16, he got listed on the transplant list as a 1B, then in March got listed as a 1A due to his heart getting worse.

Robert has had his ups and downs since being here. He has been intubated twice and has recovered well. He has been diagnosed with NEC twice, but overall he is a strong baby and he stays smiling throughout everything he has gone through. This had been the toughest journey that we have had to overcome things change in a split second.
