Update and delays, life got in the way! Still going to stretch my legs for a charity⛰️
Hi folks, I’ve decided to trek to Everest Base Camp, I'm all paid up but still looking to use the opportunity to raise money for Mental Health and Well-being - Thin Blue Line UK.
Many of you are aware that I work for Surrey Police.
I have had the privilege and opportunity to engage in front line activity, working with some outstanding officers and support staff from every department, this includes adult & child healthcare and social services.
My role has changed now (still working with great officers), I am fortunate enough to be home based.
I am eager to accomplish something for myself and to show my girls that they can reach the moon If they aim for the stars!
Why Police Mental Health?: The work is difficult and stressful, officers are often stretched, under-appreciated, undervalued and often over criticised.
This has been highlighted recently by the passing of another Surrey colleague.
Some officers have experienced events through the work which have will have a life long affect on them and for their families.
Through these difficult time we lost some of our own in Surrey Police, with many more officers suffering mental health issues and long-term sickness.
I am fortunate to have worked and continue to work with officers who suffer and still maintain a strong commitment to their role and to the general public.
A friend said to me last year that going to Everest Base Camp is like walking to ASDA car park but not going inside.
On 22.3.2025, I’ll be off to the highest supermarket in the world to get a coffee, “Please
put your hand in your pocket and help me metaphorically get to the car park! While raising money for some special people”
