My father Roberto Melgar was diagnosed in 2013 with ALS: amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis.
It's a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
The main symptom is muscle weakness.
My father has started tripping and loosing stability. He has fallen down the stairs many times causing severe head injuries. At the moment he is using a walking frame but now he is in need of a electric wheelchair. His medical expenses have become very high. He has stopped working, he can not drive or even going anywhere by himself. He needs constant assistance,
medication, and physical therapy.
There is currently no cure for this disease.
I humbly ask for your support. I am asking if you could make a donation to help Roberto keep fighting this disease. Any size donation will help.
If you have any questions just let me know.
We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for the consideration.
Love
