On Feb. 11, 2016, Robert Kennedy had an accident with piece of exercise equipment that caused him to fall into a rock-and-concrete wall. It punctured his lung which collapsed. He was flown to a larger hospital in Miami where he was put into a medically induced coma due to extreme pain. He developed pneumonia and had a tracheostomy inserted. Upon being transported to a long-term facility, he developed yet another form of pneumonia. Family was called and told he would not live. He was on Propafal for 50 days (the drug that caused Michael Jackson's death) and we were told he had extreme brain damage that was permanent. The prognosis was grim at best and no hope was given for him to ever leave a hospital. It was at this time that most of his belongings were sold or disposed of, including all of his clothing, in order to cover rising debts. All that remains are sentimental items such as family photos and and a few keepsakes. Soon after, he developed full-blown MRSA. In addition to tha,t he developed a pseudomonas infection (which is considered equally as bad as MRSA). Next he had an ablation heart procedure. After five hospitals, two nursing homes and an assisted- living facitily (which is where he is staying now), and many months of physical and occupational therapy, Robert is feeling strong enough to move on and get back to his life on his own. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated and would go toward getting him back on his feet and taking advantage of his second lease on life. Thank you so much for you consideration.
