Robert E Wagner - Funeral Fund

Who is asking:
My name is Carissa Wagner.
I'm the daughter of Robert E. Wagner Jr.

Why is this being asked:
*There's only two of us:
Myself, and my mother - his ex-wife.

Neither one of us have the money to put out there for the cost of everything:
cremation services, death certificate charges, memorial services, other document charges and so fourth.

We've reached out to family members whom we have contact information  for and they've made it clear they aren't willing to help by saying they're not "responsible" for the cost.

About Myself - Carissa Wagner:

I'm 23 years old and do not have the finaces it takes for a funeral or memorial service. I have medical bills myself for those who know me know my unfortunate medical issues I have faced.

I'm his only child and everything had been left for me to finance, do paperwork and make other arrangments.
(I know he would not of wanted it this way but sadly things things happen out of our control.)

About My Mother - Jane Wagner:
My mom is helping me out with all the paperwork, arrangemnets, and so fourth - if it wasn't for her I'd be lost.

Unfortunately my mom  can't afford the amount it costs for a funeral or memorial service either when it comes to unexpected death.

She's also paying her own medical bills - she is a breast cancer survivor. She still requries treatments and attends other medical appointments which add up even more than the bills already.

About Robert - My Father:
At the age of 61, Robert passed away on March 4th 2016 at Parkhouse Rehabiliton Center in Royersford, PA.

My father was battling his health for a majority of his life.
He had liver cancer, two strokes, diabetes, renal failure (kidney failure), a prosthetic leg, neck vertebrates problems and other disabilities that he struggled with on a daily basis.

Robert lived each day penny to penny relying on each cent for food, clothing only when needed and from second hand stores, section 8 housing rent fee, gas to get back and fourth to hospitals and doctors, medical bills, the wheelchair he needed and the maintence it required since he had a prosthetic leg and other items for his other diabilities.

With all his health issues he couldn't work and was placed on disibility through the county.
His monthly income he lived on through the county was used to pay his apartment rent, truck insurance, gas for his truck, minimum balances on financing through medical companies so he could continue treatment, co-pays, required medical equipment, in home nurses, and medications.

Between Roberts declining health and small monthly income he received that was immediately paid toward health items, bills and other things stated above made it unfeesable to afford a life insurance policy for himself. Some policies are only a small fee a month, however he didn't have that small fee on top of every other bill or item needed since he was living off disibility income through the county.

Renal Failure  (Kidney Failure)
When  diagnosed with renal failure doctors told him he'd eventually need a new kidney or set of kidneys.

Robert was placed on the wait list for a kidney transplant when first diagnoised.

Unfortunately...he was taken off the wait list shortly after due to being diagnoised with liver cancer. Therefore the wait list for a much needed kidney transplant wasn't an option anymore at this time.

At first he received dialysis once a week but as time went on the amount he needed increased.
Eventually he needed to have dialysis every other day.

When receiving dialysis every other day he ended up "bottoming out" during each session.
Each time he'd "bottom out" they needed to resuscitate him. On top of this the dialysis wasn't 100% affective anymore -the ammonia wasn't being fully removed during any session.

Eventually doctors deciced after taking all this information into consideration that it wasn't in his best interest to continue the "cycle" of receiving dialysis, "bottoming out" during each session and then having to resusciatate each time; especailly since the treatments weren't removing all the ammonia anymore.

Liver Cancer
Robert was fighting liver cancer while batteling the renal failure at the same time.

He had a procedure to remove the tumor on the liver once first diagnoied. Since the tumor was removed it meant he could go back on the kidney transplant list.
This good news didn't last long - the liver cancer came back. This time on both sides of the liver. It then spread quickly.
This also meant he was taken off the kidney transplant list...again - since the liver cancer came back.
This time the doctors didn't want to operate to remove the cancer due to the lcoation of it.

Prosthetic Leg
Robert eneded up with a prosthetic leg. The prosthetic leg sadly never fit him correctly and the only doctors he could afford as well as the only type of prosthetic leg he could afford weren't fitting him right.
He started to "favor" walking on his other foot and eventually that heel got injured which lead to an infection later on.
So before his passing he had to have the other leg amputated.
Eventually both legs were gone.

In Summary:
These were his three main medical issues on top of the two stokes, diabeties, neck vertebrates issues and so fourth.

He was a strong willed man, a fighter and wanted to give more than receive.
The only thing he craved was human interaction, fishing and dunkin donuts coffee.

Instead of him being able to give to others this time we're asking for help for Robert.

As his daughter I couldn't explain how much this would mean to me to be able to give my dad the proper type of memorial service or funeral he deserves. I would be beyond grateful to every single person.

So we're asking for any amount of help possible. Any amount of money is greatly appericiated, no amount is to little. Anything helps and is beyond grately appericiated.

We hope to receive the donations by:
November 12, 2016.
*His birthday, he would of been 62.

The money received will go directly toward the cost of:

1) Cremation since that's what he wanted,
2) The Urn,
3) Toward planning a Memorial Service / Funeral,
4) Price of Death Certificates
5) To cover fees for other documents we need since he had no will, and no life insurance policy.

If there was any money left over it would be donated to either a liver cancer society or kidney failure society.

All who donate will be graciously welcome to attend the memorial service if desired.

Once we have a location, date and time it will be advertised on here.

Thank You,
Carissa Wagner
